Bach to the Future
Two special weeks of music and uplifting fun
for Children and Youth in Kindergarten through Grade Eight

co-sponsored by the Carmel Bach Festival
and All Saints Church, Carmel, California

Bach to the Future offers two weeks—Week One focuses on Bach and Week Two on Handel—and each week is a separate program. There is no duplication of activities in each week or of past years, although the titles of the sessions may be similar.

The children and youth are divided into age appropriate groups for some of the sessions. There is a ratio of one adult to every eight participants.

Program sessions include.

Purr about the Choristers . . . Participants will lift their voices in song as they sing the music of Bach and Handel. Choristers will meet for two 45 minute singing sessions each day.

Cat chat with cool cats . . . Bach talk will provide a time for informal conversations each day with Bach Festival vocal and instrumental artists. Bow, Blow and Beat will offer time for members of the Bach Festival Orchestra to introduce you to a different musical instrument each day.

Perk up your ears . . . Sharon D'Cunha will lead you to enjoy rhythmic games, dance and solfege combined to strengthen aural skills. "Handeling the score" will develop increased facility with music notation through progressive rhythmic and melodic exercises, composing and dance.

Bach to the Drawing Board . . . You will express yourself through creative visual art experiences in ceramics with Ginna Gordon from GLAZES.

Sniff This Out – Bach in the Kitchen . . . Older participants will enjoy cooking with Chef André Lengacher of Lugano Swiss Bistro.

Bach in the Kitchen . . . Enjoy making candy with staff from the Chocolate Dipper.

Bach in Motion . . . Ondine Young will lead you in learning to express yourself through creative movement to the music of Bach and Handel. She will guide you to move freely with melody and rhythm as you explore personal and general space, and discover inner feelings.

Paws for Mr. Bach . . . During the first week of Bach to the Future you will receive daily visits from Mr. Bach, and learn about the life and times of this immortal and fascinating composer.

Catchy Community . . . Experiences with music games will draw you into fun-filled, creative experiences for building intentional community and strengthening relationships.

Sniff this out - Bach's lunch . . . A Bach's lunch will be provided each day during the two weeks of Bach to the Future by Lugano Swiss Bistro.
